Today we are excited to announce the launch of Atomic’s latest company, Boombox. Here’s the scoop:

In 2020 the world changed. People realized they could work from anywhere and still be effective. While this presented a ton of new opportunities (#vanlife), it also presented big challenges. Specifically, how do you keep your team feeling connected while physically apart?

As COO of Atomic, I found myself spending hours trying to find interesting things for the team to do together. Mixology? Wine-tasting? Escape the zoom? It was random websites, payments, contracts — the wild west. So I asked myself, “What if it were insanely easy to book amazing events that my crew was guaranteed to love?” We pulled together 20 options, built a prototype website, and reached out to a few friends. Well… it spread like wildfire, and Boombox was born.

Fast forward to today and we’ve created a universe of fun virtual experiences that groups love. Over 300 global brands (and growing) have found how easy it is to put on amazing online events, from chocolate making and whisky tasting to tattoo artistry and magic. Our goal was to take what’s special about real-world experiences — connection, spontaneity, discovery — and bring that to virtual events.

Boombox works like a marketplace. We bring together independent event hosts (think instructors, chefs, artists, sommeliers, entertainers) and help them build their business on Boombox. We help them create great event descriptions and match them with groups that will love their events. For groups, we wanted the experience of finding an event to feel as easy as online shopping, so we make it simple to find the perfect event that’s within budget, can handle your group size, and is available when you want it.

And then there’s our ultimate secret weapon: the Boombox concierge team. Whether your group is 10 people or 1,000 people, they can answer all your questions, handle every detail, and make sure you have an incredible experience. When you book an event, you don’t need to worry about a thing. All you do is show up.

We obsess over the details and never get tired of hearing stories about how employees and clients get their Boombox of goodies delivered to their doorstep so they can take part in some insanely fun experiences. (Ever tried to send balancing rocks to 32 different addresses so they all arrive at the same time? Leave that to us.)

We’re especially proud that we’ve become a trusted online event destination for sales and partnership teams that host important client events at brands like Netflix, Google, Silicon Valley Bank, Blue Shield, Expedia, AAA, Estee Lauder, and many more. We’re excited that offices are re-opening now, but the reality is that remote work is here to stay. Managers, who have more on their plate than ever, need a turnkey way to keep distributed teams engaged.

OH, and our name... does anybody else remember taking your portable CD player everywhere you went? I’m a 90’s kid, and our CDs (or cassette tapes) meant my friends and I could have fun anywhere.
